20170803_170441.jpg Bought this birthing chair and was told it was 1800s made in spain. Is there any way to identify it and how to determine value. Thanks 20170803_170430.jpg 20170803_170430.jpg 20170803_170423.jpg

I've never seen one with that rope twist carving, very nice.

Although I don't know nothin' 'bout birthin' babies, I do know that the twisted rope motif is associated with Portugal, not Spain. It's an important design element of the Manueline style.

Here's an example from the Palácio da Pena in Sintra.
