I picked up this lovely little trinket box an auction recently and would love to know whose mark is on the bottom and a rough date range of manufacture. It measures about 3" square. It has what I believe is an anchor mark in bIue ink on the bottom. It's close to the Anchor Porcelain Company mark but there are enough differences to make that attribution iffy. It looks too well done to be Japanese. Anyone have any clues? Thanks for whatever help you can provide.

Can't think at the moment of the German company that did this type of work. They had a crown not an anchor for a mark.

Can you show a better picture of the mark. Is it stamped on?
It might be a Japan export mark.
Japan also did some of this type of work.

Schafer and Vater is the most common German company. I don't know if this is a mark of theirs or not.

Is the decoration sprigged (a separate element attached to the blue) or is the decoration molded into the blue and with a white coating?

Thank you more, Schafer and Vater was what I couldn't bring to mind last night.

Hi cluttered and more - thank you for your input. I believe the decoration is molded into the blue with a white coating. It does bear some similarity to Schafer Vater but I'm only familiar with their impressed marks. I'll try and get a better picture of the mark tomorrow once I've got my camera set up.

I apologize for the length of time it took me to post this. I got better pictures on my new phone rather than my camera and it took me the better part of a week to figure out how to get them from my phone to my computer! Don

Could be wrong, but IIRC, that's a Japanese co. mark. Might be on gotheborg.
