Hello everyone. I bought this inkwell at the Spanish antique market. I think it's Black Forest. What do you think, is it original or a fake?

There is a strange thing at the bottom, maybe for handing it. It also seems like something is missing at the bottom where the empty square is.

    Thanx

It is real. These were made in Switzerland, but people know them as Black Forest woodcarvings. The Black Forest is in Germany.

Cleaned it from dust. Beauty. Too bad the goat doesn't have rags :( I think I'll take it to the workshop.

Maybe I should rub it with something to make it shine?

I speculate that the metal bracket on the bottom once supported a pen holder.

I like the hiding space too.
