Hello, glassies. I have this pretty heavy glass bowl/ashtray, 5 1/2" diameter, about 2 3/4" high, chock full of silver aventurine. I can't find any that look just like it so I'm wondering Murano or China? The underside is very slightly ribbed and there is a puddled pontil mark. Not sharp, ground or even very concave, just a little puddle of melt. Before I tag it I figure I'd better know what it isn't.
As always, many thanks for any and all help with it.

I'm on my phone and can't really see it very well, but it's a nice looking piece, personally would think probably Venetian/Murano. Will say that it's not avventurina, but foil inclusion, gold or silver leaf sheets that crack or shatter as the glass is worked. Avventurina glass has tiny flecks (gold stone is avventurina) - both techniques can sometimes be found in the same piece...

I agree with Cheryl, that’s foiled glass. Might well have been made on Murano.

Thank you all. I didn't really know the difference between foil and avventurina. I really didn't even know there was a stone called aventurine! So, having been properly educated, I will call it silver foil and likely Venetian/Murano. Happy Friday to all!

Are you sure it isn't gold foil? That's how it looks to me.

Here's pics in better light. It looks silver looking into the bowl, almost gold when looking at the bottom! 20240531_122403.jpg 20240531_122417.jpg
