I have a pair of these shallow bowls and hope that the good folks here can help ID them. They're 8 3/8" in diameter, about 1 1/2" high at the rim. They're lightweight. I don't know if they're hand painted, but they may be - I don't see any dots indicating transfer. The gold banding may be hand done. The backs show very fine crazing and blue-ish colors that pools around the foot rim. The whole back is glazed.

Any thoughts on age or origin?

    Thank You!

Coffee can saucers. I'm inclined to late 18th/early 19th and Continental.

Thank you, Owned by bear. They're a bit large (8 3/8") for saucers? Would you say they're earthenware?

They do look like porcelain, but they're opaque. Interestingly, one is heavier than the other--one weighs 10.9 ounces, the other weighs 13.3 ounces. The weight difference is quite noticeable when they're in hand.

I think the blueish tint in the glaze does indicate pearlware.

thank you! Yes, that helps - gives me something to add to search. I'm seeing that Worcester had a Royal Lily pattern which is similar.
