(Condition wise there’s lot of cracking) Search results indicate that it could be a chinese pottery and a rice pot? Please let me know what you think. Iam thinking it’s old. The lid is 17cm wide and it stands 14cm tall. Thank you for any comments

Have you given it a good wash ? I ask because I cant figure out if thats the finish . I wonder if its European in an Asian style ?

Looks like it's been hand thrown on a wheel by the village potter or by the people themselves to use. Before the days of mass production or perhaps in a community with little access to commercially produced wares.

Doesn’t look like it’s Asian, try “American Blue Salt Glaze”, stoneware or pottery.

It could be Chinese Provincial ware, but could also be European folk ware.

Thank you all,I appreciate the comments. I will investigate the your suggestions and maybe… Seems it is a bit of a confusing ‘Frankenstein’ little pot,but an interesting thing.

Do you think possibly late 19th century or there about? Or is it not possible to really speculate? Thanks again

Ooh that is a tricky one. Wants to be Chinese or Japanese and European or American all at the same time. The brushwork, blue rings, and spacing look more Asian to me. The actual flora and shape go the other a little more for me. Maybe it is Asian inspired but made in the west. If someone forced me to throw a $20 down I might go Asian.

Also tricky. That could be 100 years old or 300 years old. Johnny’s recommendation of a good bath might be in order.

Thanks for the reply and for giving your valued opinion. Seems nobody is really sure what to make of it. If the forum’s knowledgeable members don’t know then I probably don’t have a hope in hell to really figure it out. But I have been looking/searching quite a bit and personally I would also guess: Asian..
