I have a pair of blue and white baby booties with dragons and do not know anything about them. If anyone can give me any information about them that would be great. Thanks 20170718_174649.jpg 20170718_174726.jpg 20170718_174607.jpg 20170718_174818.jpg 20170718_174750.jpg 20170718_174810.jpg

Of course not... it's what these decorative items are fashioned after.

Yes, they are recent, still being made. As Kronos said decorative items.
The white metal is often called Tibet silver or Miao silver. It has no silver content. These metal mounts are usually decorated with dragon and phoenix motifs. That stands for the balance between Yin and Yang, male and female, etc. In imperial days the dragon was a symbol of the emperor, the phoenix of the empress, again in balance, for harmony.
The dragon and phoenix are also printed on the porcelain.

Glad to live in a different time. Corsets were bad enough, but not having the freedom to walk without the support of male family members, just for the sake of beauty....
I would take that hand painted with a pinch of salt. Transfer prints with dabs added by hand, more likely. The rim is hand painted, in a rather rushed way.
