Blue bird, 1862 bronze on lead.

    Hello I received this as a gift from family. The only information I have is this note....

    "Bluebird decoration - said to be quite rare - wedding gift to ____ _____ _____ - 1862 Bronze in lead.

    I was hoping someone could give me some info on this piece.

    I’m guessing it is really plated spelter. Lead isn’t normally used for casting sculpture.

    have you looked it over for any markings......they can be hard to spot at times..
