    Hey gang..

I've had this these three pieces for a long time. I found them in an antique mall where sometimes I get some great items after some digging. These where in the farthest back corner on a shelf for about $16.00, I think. They may be a newer set, but I always thought the design seemed Swedish or European in nature or perhaps some MCM designer. It seems unique and neat-o made to be a modern piece (maybe). I've tried to ID them a few times over the years, with no success. This new year I'm trying to be better at moving some of these 'whatizits' out if I can rather then keep putting them back in inventory over and over again. ;)

It is very thin, particularly the glasses. What is most striking about it is all the squares or cubes are INSIDE the pitcher or glasses - not on the inside and you can feel every one. The pitcher has a nice pontil mark. It is not great picture taking weather and hopefully this works - I'm very happy to retake pics if that helps.

The glasses measure 3 1/16'' tall and even after a ton of cleaning are still quite dirty. I don't know where they came from, but it also leads me to believe they may have some age to them.

The pitcher is 6 1/4'' tall.

    Thanks for your help.

MCM is an architectural, interior, product and graphic design that describes mid-20th century developments in modern design, architecture and urban development from roughly 1933 to 1965.
    Sweden is a Country

    This can be both.

Unfortunately, I can't help you with an ID

The pattern is on the inside! How bizarre! That's got to be a big clue to those in the know.

I searched with keywords square hobnail, waffle, block, and couldn't find anything like this. They are so tiny, do you think it's a play set?

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and input. The Empoli and Italian directions are great. Will dig deeper into both.

Did Empoli have such a nice polished pontil?
I was looking at Rhimaki, and Iitalla with no luck.
I'm more inclined to Scandia area.

Yup, they did. I've had Empoli in just that colour, too, and they're well known for embossed pieces. Don't forget it's a region, not a single maker.

    I didn't know that.
I thought it was a maker. In fact I know very little about Empoli. Most of the pieces that I know are attributed to Empoli are not as nice of quality as what is shown above.

    Off to google.

It is a bit of a mystery... the pitcher has a Swedish style and I can see the Empoli influence as well. I will keep looking. It has been a fun (and a pretty experience) to look at all the glass while researching.

Brad was asking about Etsy last week. For this item, if it can't be solved, I think I will put it there. I am personally not a fan of using 'in the style' etc. in the title and there are so many specific rules on 'bay regarding that type of thing. There is more flexibility on Etsy and I can write a better description allowing the buyer to make their own determination.

    @FunkeysFinds
While I was looking at things last night, I came across the term internal design in relation to some of the Scandinavian pieces. However, trying to google that kept bringing up home designs. Don't know if you can do better than me at discovering items with internal patterns.
