Blue Transferware Bowl

    IMG_7127.JPG IMG_7128.JPG IMG_7129.JPG Not marked and not a lot of age signs so can't tell if okd or not. I guess English but no idea of the maker.

    I think it's some calico pattern though it might also be called a chintz I suppose. Burleigh made one, Johnson Brothers did also and I imagine others did as well. You'd think that a big maker would have labeled it though.

    Blue Calico
    Burleigh, Staffordshire, as SIS said. I've never seen the bottom done. Usually the back is white and it is stamped.
    So maybe this isn't Burleigh's.

    I have a question: If it's transferware, isn't there usually a visible "seam" of where the pattern stops and starts????? Inquiring mind wants/needs to know!!!! Thanks!!

    Not always. A bowl is done as a complete sheet, for example.
