Blue white pot/planter? Old or newer?

I acquired this piece in a lot of old pottery from the estate of a pottery collector. It was in with some faience and talavera pieces. I'm not sure if it is old or new, if it just got stuck in the lot or is actually something of value. Glasze is very heavy, like talavera glaze, design is hand incised and the cobalt blue glaze is "messy." Inside is glazed. Bottom has an lightly incised X with the number 40 below it, would not show up on photos. Measures 5.75" H x 6.25" wide. Any help with age or provenance is greatly appreciated.

 

I have photos of the bottom and the inside, but it won't let me upload them, I keep getting this error " The contents of the uploaded image do not match the file's extension."

 

A bit of research on

shows either a problem with using Firefox or Safari as a browser, or it is a png file with a jpg extension.

A bit beyond my pay scale to explain but I know how to change png to jpg on my Corel PaintShop program. The pic you did post is pgn and I easily changed it to jpg. . .however, you didn't have a problem posting the first one.

Just for a quick try this might work: if your pics are on your phone, try emailing them to yourself as medium size and see it that fixes the extension problem.
