Glass has been continuously produced on the Bohemian side of the Jizera Mountains for almost five centuries. The city of Desná (as we know it today) was formed in 1691. It now includes the formerly separate municipalities of Potočná, Souš and Dolní Polubný, where the first chapters of glass production in the region began.

I've added a few photos of some examples from my own collection of Bohemian/Czech glass, produced and/or designed during the Art Deco period.

I think they are ALL fabulously beautiful, in their own way, but, the Curt Schelvogt Jade-Malachite is the one, for it’s essence...okay, Josef Inwald too lol. Thank You for sharing more of your intriguing collection. ❤️Maven

There are often examples of the Jade-Malachite lady being sold on eBay for around $300 USD as they still produced from original moulds. It is a very difficult glass-type to date. Most examples were never signed and were simply retailed with paper labels attached to the base of a piece.

Gorgeous! I have the “Longchamp” horse head hood ornament. It’s not an original Lalique, and I think it is a Czech piece. Regardless, Bohemian glass is spectacular!
