Very odd. The design on the handle looks pseudo Aztec, while the design on the stamp face looks pseudo NW Coast. None of it looks like bone to me.

Welcome, Paul. I can't distinguish between Meso-American & NW native, but my collecting interests mean I see a lot of seals. This is certainly that shape & I can't think what else it could be, however, odd that the matrix appears to be in relief/cameo, rather than intaglio. It would leave an indented instead of raised impression in the wax.

We always prefer pix full size.

Does appear to be bone or antler. [Edit] There is a strange granularity to the material that makes me have second thoughts.

    A novelty item, I'd think.

    Agree.
Fun piece, but it looks like a marriage to me.
