I can't find another copy of this book dated 1835 - they're all dated 1837 or later.

I'm assuming this is a first edition. Will it make a significant difference in the sales price? Thanks for your comments and insight.

1st editions are always the most sought after,,,,,, but condition is very important for value !!
it may have been made in a small edition.... so others are harder to find than the 37.

Now the question - do Sunday School prize books from the 1830s sell?

The author's name was Harvey Newcomb. "Hervey" appears to have been a typesetter's error, corrected in later editions.

When trying to get an idea of value for a scarce book, it is often helpful to look for other titles by the same author to see what the price range might be. Here are the results of a search for works by Harvey Newcomb, published between 1820 and 1865 -

Thank you for your input 2manybooks.

It is an attractive book because of its size, age, printing, and binding, but it looks to be hideously boring.

Probably, but maybe there is some historical interest?
