Featured Boston Rocker with unusual arms

I acquired this Boston Rocker and haven't been able to get information on the design of the arms. I'm hoping someone has come across this and maybe the design will even help to date the rocker. Thanks in advance if you are out there!

 

Unusual variation that I have not seen. For what it is worth, based on what I can see, I don't believe this to be a period example. It may be antique or nearly so but looks to be a comercial product.

What does it look like underneath? That can really help with identification. Verybrad is usually very right even with limited information, but more information might narrow it down a bit. I think it’s a charming chair that might be quite comfortable, but from looking at the top that’s about all I can guess besides “probably made between 1930 and 1990”.
