Hello! I bought 4 framed , I thought,, lithographs that I knew were rather old. Got home, started unframing them (broken glass, etc) and found they were 1927/1928 "The Literary Digest" covers. Decent shape. Started the next one and found 1901 Church and Dwight color lithographs that haven't seen the light of day since....1927? OMG! I don't even know where to begin to look for info and assess the value.

Looking online, it seems that Church & Dwight Co. is a company that produces baking soda and related products. Arm & Hammer is a brand name. It's possible that these were an advertising promotion.

Not sure what I'm seeing here. Are these matted prints, or is that just a decorative effect at the edge of the image?

Those do appear to be period cards that have been cut down. Size (which you don't state) determines use.

The internet tells us the brand's fish series of trade cards was published in 1900. I would suspect your cards were displayed at retail to promote.

They were in old wooden backed frames. 2 of the frames glass were broken. So I removed the glass and found these.

It's old glue. They must of been framed before.

They are very beautiful even cut down. I would just frame them again and enjoy.
