    Hi!

I recently got this box that I assume is for holding change (that you have in stores):

I got it for 1.5$ and I thought it was a good deal. Does anyone know around what age it is from? I know that it's not that old but I'd still like to know if anyone has any answers. Thanks!

The box is quite new as it's made out of some kind of metal.

Edit: pictures didn't work so I'll post them again here

Another edit: I only get errors when uploading the photo from my phone. I'll get it up tomorrow.

If you are using photobucket it has started charging to host pictures. I would love to see it.

Young Collector was able to post pictures on his other thread, so he should be able to post pictures about his box. Maybe he's just busy with his bottles.

Sorry! I'm unable to go on my PC until tomorrow as I'm not home right now. I'll see if I can fix it on my mobile. Imgur doesn't want to work either sadly.

Here's the picture. No markings on the box at all so I don't know where, when or who it's from.

I'm no expert but I'd say stylistically its 1960's-1970's. Interest in this box as an antique/collectable in my opinion isn't going to be that high. Still it was a bargain at a buck and a half, I have no doubt you could sell it for several times that amount to someone looking for a vintage box.

The original price was 3$ but the man at the counter said that I'd get 50% off my purchase since I'm young

Boxes of this type go back a long way. I have one from the 30s which is huge. I keep my silverware in it. They were very popular in the Victorian era, but I don't think this one has any great age. It's useful and all, but that's about it.

Most of them are that ugly tan, so the orange interior is a plus. They don't go for a lot, but if you still have the key it's a useful critter.

I have a few. I know I have a gray one a black one or two and a gray/silver Hammerite one.

I've seen a lot of the gray ones too; they're a utilitarian item and come in industrial colors.

Mine is a huge, black beast made in Japan. It comes with two combination dials and a lock on the front.
