I'm posting this for someone else. I have tried to identify the maker's mark with no luck. The maker's mark looks like a dove with an olive branch - seems like a unique enough mark that it should be easy to track down, but I can't find it.

They said their father bought it online a while ago and was told it was agate. Some questions she had were:

    1. Does the stone look like agate (if it even is a stone, I can't really tell)?
    2. Does the style point to a certain region of the world?
    3. And of course, who's maker mark is it?
    4. Oh, and does it look like a dove with an olive branch to anyone else? (She
thought it looked like a bird with webbed feet; I pointed out that I thought
it was a dove, but she didn't seem convinced...lol)

    Thanks!

Probably not agate, the gold balls and bezel are not usually used for semi precious stones.

Thanks Holly! I can usually identify if something is glass, but I don't know stones too well.

Wow, you're the bomb! Thank you. I looked everywhere with no luck - I couldn't even find a similar bracelet really. Mind if I ask what search terms you used?

I searched your first photo with Google image search (or whatever they call it) That was the the first image that popped up ... none of the others were very similar, though.

Thank you. I tried that several times without any luck. You must have a different google than I do. ;);)

Is the stone iridescent? I'm not sure from your pics.
If so, it might be yellow mother-of-pearl.
The braid style reminds me of Thai or Bali jewelry.

I do as a matter of fact. The sunlight burns my eyes, so I only come out when the moon is less than full. :D:D:D

I don't think it's iridescent. They're not my pictures, so I don't have it here to view it.

Hmm, Thai or Bali, I'll take a look at those. The listing above called it a "wheat" chain, so that might help to look around.

I thought that darn maker's mark would be sooo easy to find, but I've come up with zip on it.

Anyone want to weigh in on whether that looks like a dove with an olive branch? That's all I can see now that I've practically made my mind up on what it is; I can't unsee it.

LOL, I guess I'm looking for backup because she insists it's a bird with webbed feet.

First thought was turtle, but no idea what is in it's mouth exactly.

Oh my gosh, feeling stupid now. I read that as "sea turtle stone", inserting an extra word in there! I was like, huh, never heard of sea turtle stone before.

    :oops::oops: :D:D

Apologies to @lovewrens and @Lucille.b who both suggested turtle, and I totally misunderstood.

Now I need to go and see if my brain can see a turtle instead of being stuck on a dove.

Ha, yeah, I see the man's face looking right as well.

Ok, so I got turtle, seal, and man's face to offer her as alternatives to possibly a dove. Maybe that's why I can't find the maker's mark, too focused on it being a dove.
