I went back to the auction house in Hazel Grove yesterday to pick up the six Japanese plates as they didn't sell. I think it's my last visit there. On my way back I found this. Looks to be pretty recent, looking at the lack of wear. I think it might be Tibetan script inlaid on the sides of the bell. I can't find another one in this style

    Sanskrit?

I've just googled it and it doesn't look like Sanskrit from what I can tell. Sanskrit has horizontal lines running through it. Unless you get different styles of Sanskrit, which is possible.

I can't read anything in similar scripts whatever, so your guess is as good as mine.

The term for the bell is 'dril-bu' (Tibetan), or more general, 'ghanta' (Sanskrit).
The text is in Tibetan. Looks like it is etched.
A nice ghanta, but mass-produced and fairly recent.

Oh and if you scratch the edge of the script you can feel an edge so can't tell if it has just been scored round the edge and stained or if it is inlay.
