Dimensions? Need better shot, low angle, of the 6? attachment points on back. Looks like a small one to be sewn onto clothing, perhaps uniform. $5-$7 value range, looks like to me. Mid-20th C. or later manufacture.

This is the back of the eagle. Measures about 5×5in.

This is a close up of a couple attachment sights. Color is much brighter due to flash. Hope this helps in identification.

Might be a dress uniform hatplate for a miner from some European country-that's my best guess. No matter what it goes on you should be able to find out what country it is from by googling various combinations of the elements of the image-I see a crowned single-headed eagle, an orb, a hammer, shield, etc. I tried that but got nothing resembling your eagle and ran out of time. Good luck.

    Possibly from Prussia, Brandenburgh?

Here is a webpage with Imperial Germany helmet plates. I don't think yours is there, but could have missed it. There are a few spread winged crowned eagles holding an orb, but some appear to have a scepter and others a trident type implement in the other talon?

Thanks so much Susan. This is as close as I have found so far. The interesting part for me is the attachments. They are the same as those on some of those shown. Tend to lean toward the Prussian.
