Brass Fitted Wooden Box

This was a tag sale find that has stumped me for some time now. The brass work and rivets led me to believe it could be antique, but I was turned off by the flathead screws that affix the hinges. Can anyone give insight as to this piece? Repro or otherwise?

 

It appears to have lost two internal dividers and a lower internal false base. Rosewood like this was popular in the mid 19th C, which is when I think your box was made, and it comes in the general class of 'campaign furniture' or more generally, travelling stuff, because of the flush handle and brass reinforcement.
