Brass knobs with latin writing, are these older? Arts & Crafts era?

Recent purchase of door knobs. The lettering sort of reminded me of Arts & Crafts era. But no company name written anywhere. Has anyone ever seen similar? Thinking these are not a new reproduction or anything... or? Thanks.

Don't know what you've got. The phrase is used as dummy text in graphic design to show how something will look once the correct text has been added. (It's from a poem by Cicero.)

Do a Google search for "lorem ipsum".

    Thanks Moreother and INH. :)

Just copied that same picture. Absolutely no way to follow the link. Frustrating.

But shows the whole unit. I'm missing those two parts. Additional thoughts on this now that the entire unit is shown? Also evidence there is another set out there as well. Curious if these are older or not.

Agree. They are a national chain that sells sort of "Boho-chic" clothing, accessories. As far as I know, their own designs, some of their products made to look old. It's an expensive store, kind of like Restoration Hardware, etc.

Sometimes their stuff even sells higher than antiques would, not sure my door knobs fall into that category though.

Something was sort of tipping me off they weren't older, the lack of any maker's mark, etc.

I love that store, but alas it is too far from me to enjoy it unless I am in the area.
Pricey stuff. They used to have nice candles too.
Almost looks like a flea market when you walk into the store.

Which is why, when your search on "Lorem ipsum doorknobs" you end up with a slew of dummy pages from home decor companies. :hilarious:

If nothing else, I don't think Latin uses 'ing' at the end of progressive verbs or words that derive from them.

    It's dummy text, not literature.
