    Hi all.
I recently was doing some family research on my great grandmothers maiden name Ransom. I finally found where the family came from. (Armagh County in Northern Ireland). William Ransom 1765-1804.
I am not sure this link is about his collection and further research will need to be done. But I thought it was rather interesting and wanted to share it. Any thoughts and or input?

The items were donated around 1915 by Frank Ransom...so I may presume that to be maybe his grandson? Do you know Frank?

Then, accordingly, did Sabina have a brother named Frank?

No Frank. I was thinking that he is a distant relative still living in Europe.

    Interesting side story,
In 1865 the area of Marshall County WV. that my great grandmother lived became the town of Moundsville.
in 1891 when she was 4 years old Fostoria glass company built their factory there. One of her brothers worked there, but I was never able to find that information to be true. Yet.. She did mention it to me when I was a kid visiting her in the summers.

Maybe one of the other 11 children had a son named Frank?

You were missing a generation. Mike. Sabina was the daughter of Alex (b. 1848) and Virginia (b. 1849.)

    There you go!

I didn't find any one with a son name Frank yet.

I am not optimistic about finding details for William's family in Ireland. The English census system did not start until after the original William left to come here and even then if his family stayed in Ireland the closest we can get these days is later 1800's and how will we know who's related to him? If there is any personally identifying Info for the donor it might help cut to the chase. But that's about it. Sorry.

:p It's a Pennsylvania joke. Back in the early 70's (when we lived in State College, the morning radio DJ made fun of Moundsville and it's mayor on a regular basis. Sorry. I couldn't help myself.:sorry:

Oh lol. I did read somewhere that (for the life of me I can't find again)
Alexander had a wagon shop in Moundsville. With a dozen kids that must have been rough.
