    Hi,

    Hope everyone is well.

I've got a ring that was my mother's. Date stamp is 1973 (t), London Assay, but I cant find anywhere who the maker is.

I think a London jewellery maker. The initials are QG. And I don't believe it has anything to do with the type of silver etc. It has to be the maker, as this is a modernist, handmade ring. I've cleaned it up with a silver bath then silver polish, to see the marks.

So, could anyone possibly help with the identification please?

    Thank you so much. 20210310_090607.jpg 20210310_090647.jpg 20210310_090607.jpg 20210310_090647.jpg 20210310_091917.jpg 20210310_090607.jpg 20210310_090647.jpg 20210310_091917.jpg 20210310_091928.jpg

You may never find out, unless you ask the assay office perhaps. There were and still are so many small silversmiths out there.

I checked several sites, no Q anywhere, so I agree, ask the assay office.

is it possible that it's not a Q but the sign of the order of the garter ?

Prior to 2013, British sponsor's marks were required to have initials...

The first name is going to be Quintin I'd suspect.
