Brocade? Placemats. Hand embroidered or machine?

    Good day all,

I know nothing about embroidery or textiles. Got these three pretty place mats in a small bag of goodies at the thrift store, and wondered if anyone can pinpoint their age, as well as whether they were machine or hand made.

    Thanks.

I have had them pass through my hands before... yes, 40's 50's... mine were stamped "Made in Belgium".
    Cheerio,
