Bronze/brass Nubian servant figurines

    Got a pair of these today. They are pretty identical. I have a suspicion that they are brass made to look bronze. Roughly 20cm tall.

    I would go with the 'blackamoor' description. Are they candle holders? They remind me of the torch bearing figures that were popular newel post lamps at one time.

    They certainly look like candle holders and have been used as such.
