Looks very old by style cast made?Thank you.

 

Looks more like copper than bronze?

 

Unless, perhaps, it's been cold-painted to give the illusion of copper green patina.

 

brass do not, has sound like bronze.

 

So many differend kind bronze.You can see one 1950 second one much older and what is diferent ?

This is not an old candlestick. Made in the 20th century. Green patina is applied; possibly by fuming with ammonia or vinegar and salt (fun if you've never tried it on brass - but definitely NOT something to do with an antique piece of brass).

 

Hi, Jeff Drum,I'm appreciate year opinion,may by you right .I'm never done to make older brass, bronze.But recognize brass from broze that it easily.That candlestick cast made,qualitatively good and I was looking to find same but could not .Thank you.Iouri.

 

I'd love to see/ hear a video or sound file of the difference in sound between identically shaped samples of bronze and brass...

 

.....Usually bells are cast from the so-called bell bronze, less often from iron, cast iron, silver, stone, terracotta and even glass.If you have bronze and brass,make a sound.Thank you
