A friend who does thrift store hunting found this & offered it to me for $40. I wasn't sure if it was worth it - no signature for one, but he finds a lot of good stuff that he sells to me for only $5 - $10 over what he paid for it; it's like having an extra set of eyes for very little money!
So even though I had no clue what it is worth - or even if it's really bronze, I I figured it was an investment towards the next time he found something really good.
Any thoughts on this piece? Anyone seen anything like it?
    PS - It measures 10 x 6 x 5
    Thanks

Looking at the last picture that shows underneath the figure I don't believe this is 100 percent bronze. It could be bronze faux where they just Coated the outside with bronze to make it look like it's made from bronze. If your going to resell it I would pass but that's your decision

It looks like it was made from brass then put the bronze faux over it

I thought it was a little shiny for a bronze.

    Is Brutalism an overworked term?

I think I could put it in the surreal category -- I mean, it doesn't have a head/face, right? Just the curving leaf-like bit?

I see what you mean, @Jivvy

She can be both, I think

Sorry, that wasn't clear @scoutshouse -- my post followed yours, but I was responding to the question in the OP's title.

I've never really caught on to the scope of the "brutalism" category (in both jewelry and art), so I'm not the one to comment on that.

Is there some ebay info in the op?
