Featured Brooch Gold-tone Mesh Faceted Blue Glass Porphyr

    For the sake of posting something, I'll ask about this brooch. It's about 2" across (the glass about 1 3/8"). Is it correct to call the glass porphyr? Any other comments?

    I can't help but feel that this would be appropriate on a hat.

    Agate glass, I'd call it. 1950s or so, mesh was popular then. Very pretty.
