    I realize I haven’t gotten around to sharing some of my brooches yet.

    This is a brass (and what looks to be a pink pearlescent shell) rose brooch I bought a few years ago. I remember the seller advertising this brooch as 1920’s, but even back then I wasn’t so sure that was the case. But it’s very pretty and at the time I hadn’t seen another brooch like it. It’s unfortunately missing a leaf, but I still love it!

    Found this one at my local antique store a few years back. Perhaps not as pretty as the rose, but I was still interested in it. I’ve always wondered what sort of plant this is supposed to be. If anyone here recognizes it, I’d love to know.

    Lovely feather brooch that I don’t get to wear very often. Just like with the rose, it was advertised as 1920’s (and from France). But unlike the rose brooch, I’m actually more inclined to believe that this is true (mainly because of the trombone clasp).

    Not sure how old this is, and I don’t think the antique store I bought it from knew, either. What do you all think?

    The back on the last one is probably 1950s from the V shape. The second one: is it me, or is it missing its faux pearls? I'd bet it had some pointy oval ones (or something like that) at some point. The leaves look like they're somewhere between water lilies and ivy.

    It is very pretty, but probably easier to recognize the right way up.;)

    @Ownedbybear .:)

    The trombone clasp was not just used in the 20s, but continued to be used in Europe. However, it is a 20s design, so I agree. This is my favourite of the lot.
    If it is French and silver, it will be marked. Search for tiny marks with a loupe.

    I'm with evelyb, the last one is 1950s.

    Bleeding heart? The leaves and flower shape are wrong. I had to look up the Latin name.

    Wild dicentras often have those long flattened bell shaped flowers.

    The leaves still looked wrong.

    As aj says, the wild ones differ a tad from cultivars. I’ll see if I can find an image.
