Brown Owl Pottery Vase/Planter

    Hoping to find some info on the owl vase/planter. Who? When? Great detail. First thought was Royal Copley because of the runners but the white clay isn't right for RC.     The bottom looks like one of those craft studio pieces that you paint yourself, but the top is too nice.

    True. Also I don't think I've ever seen runners on the craft items.

    It doesn't look incredibly old - 1970s maybe. My guess would be British, because the bottom is all wrong for Japanese or Taiwanese. Owls were very popular for a few years, along with mushrooms, around 1973-1977. Things like this were cranked out in the millions.

    That's my owl in the link. Of course they don't know who dunnit either. My best guess by the weight and feel would be c1950-60. Thanks. Reckon I'll just have to wing it.

    Hi,
    Those rounded wedge feet have me thinking Brush McCoy. That brown glaze has me thinking the same thing.
