Brown pottery vase carved relief

    Some lady I know at that shops at thrift store, told me this was an inexpensive piece, I think she wanted me to put it back on shelf so she could grab it.
    Was she correct about it being inexpensive ? Anybody know where it came from, Mexico, etc.

    Looks like burnished Tonala pottery to me. And a very nice example at that. I don't recall ever seeing a hand carved piece.

    Which is the truest color, picture #1 or picture #2?

    Maybe you should put up some pictures taken in better light. It suddenly popped into my head that this might be Japanese or Chinese.

    Really, Chinese or japanese, I never seen pottery like this from them. Here's a little redware pot I have had a for awhile now, same heart like designs. 084.JPG
