Bruyere Garantie Briar wood Hunters smoking pipe advice needed

I have seen a lot of these on eBay but not one with an applied scene. I found this at my favorite thrift. A box full of parts and pieces individually priced. I put these three together, so they took off two of the price tags and sold it to me for $7.
I was hoping to spruce it up but not sure what to clean, oil the wood with.
It is marked Bruyere Garantie on the side and on the lid is marked Pat pend. P2361.
I am not sure if that is the patent number.
any and all thoughts welcome.
