Buddha is smiling but will I be with his value?

    Hi all,

    This smiling Buddah is 12 x 8 x 5.75" and about 4.5 lb. Any info on age, type of wood, and origin would be helpful. The base is wood too and there are no marks. I can provide a pic if need be. There are some marks carved in (see pic) the left hand side of his belly. Hopefully, someone recognizes them. Also, okay to clean him (what is the best agent?), or better to leave him as is for resale market?
