    Hi,
I'm lost on this piece - I think this would be considered a burnished pottery box 10" x 3 3/4" x 2", marked with an arrow on the lid and base.
    any ideas or information appreciated.
    thanks for looking. DSC01439.jpg DSC01436.jpg DSC01433.jpg DSC01437.jpg DSC01434.jpg

Makanudo There is no such thing as simple.Simple is hard.

    I like this trunk..
It is rather narrow, I would say...shorter sides are at an angle or I am not seeing right?

thanks Makanudo, I like it too! Must be my photo taking that make them appear at an angle - all sides are straight.
lol spring, you just never know I guess.

Just the thing we'd have kept our incense in in the 70s .

Looks a bit irregular so it may be a one-off student project. The arrows mitigate that theory however, a student probably wouldn't have the tooling to make such neat arrows. ???

Spring, the arrows are nothing more than a snippet of clay flattened, rolled and applied - nothing difficult. The rest of the box is called "hand built" and is flat rolled out clay slabs put together - again, nothing difficult. I can see the texture of the canvas work table on the clay. To me it looks to be student art from the 1960s or 1970s. I like it. Yes I'd put my incense in it!
