Calling all giant cast iron chicken experts...

    H4712-L208697303.jpg H4712-L208697307.jpg H4712-L208697316.jpg H4712-L208697313.jpg H4712-L208697321.jpg H4712-L208697328.jpg H4712-L208697332.jpg There she is. She's 35" tall and about 75 lbs. Hollow inside. Comes from a very old estate in Kinderhook NY. I have not yet photo'd the bottom. I dont see any foundry mark, is there any other way to identify who made this. This would be a hen, right?

    I don't know anything about your hen but I do know it's pretty frickin' fantastic!

    I’d say yes, it’s a hen. Roosters tail feathers are curved.

    I've been on this site for a while....seen all the "what do u collect" threads....and the Secret Santa threads....and have yet to come across anyone who's field of study is focused in this area..:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

    And the picture posted in #1 is the same picture as shown in the listing link posted by Brad #8. Another case of I'm curious about this thing I don't own?

    And here I was thinking the question would be about FRYING a giant chicken in a cast iron skillet. Silly me. :D

    Not sure where Brad got the 22" from .... it says "Unpainted surface. With some lichen. Dimensions: H 35" x W 13" x D 26" Condition: Wear consistent with age and use." I too feel this is not vintage , but if I was wrong would not be the first time. Either way , you win for the biggest cast iron door stop !
