    Hi everyone!

Hope everyone is doing well. I'm normally very good with stones but this has me stumped. Looks like citrine but the lines going across it confuse me I know it is not a real big deal but just wondering if someone knows the stone

    Thank you so much!

So, those lines could not be from the way the stone was cut and faceted?

[IMG] Like this one, for example?

Are the lines internal or external?

Sometimes they get creative with really big rocks.

    Did it test as Citrine?

Rhodium-plated something? If it's costume then the stone is glass. If it's sterling ... you never know. It looks like a costume ring from here.

If the "lines going across" are internal, could be Morganite?

They are internal striations and it is set in sterling I know it is likely a newer piece from China or Thailand but was just wondering about the stone Another thought was topaz but i have not seen citrine or topaz with these milky lines in it The lines are kinda suspended in the middle of the stone

Probably man made quartz, the lines would be "bread crumb" inclusions.

I thought the lines looked familiar, but without knowing if they were internal or external I didn't want to guess.I have a man made quartz crystal in the book case next to my computer that has only a single line and not double like yours.

I found some other quartz with almost the same type of interior lines in it I had not searched quartz before you mentioned it TY!

I think probably citrine that started life as amethyst & was cooked. Both are quartz, & quartz can have inclusions of other minerals. Don't know what this 'milky' substance would be. Not glittery enough for rutile:

And not dark enough for tourmaline:

Really unusual stone. The cut also strikes me as out of the ordinary, although will probably be corrected on this by one of the seriously knowledgeable jewelies.
