Cameo From Dollhouse - Not Of Value, Right?

This was in my grandmother's dollhouse, hung on the wall like a portrait. It's just costume jewelry, right? I'm assuming that's not real gold or Limoges porcelain, but figured I'd run it by this group before tossing it aside. It measures about 2 and 1/4" long and 1 and 3/4" wide. Thank you!

 

She is not a cameo because she is not carved. She is either painted on porcelain or a transfer. Sweet piece, yes costume. Unfortunately the break on the top of the frame is damage and effects the value

Cameos are in relief, not flat or incised. Even when molded in glass or plastic, not hand carved in a natural material, they are considered cameos.

 

Since I have been on this forum I have started to research all sorts of things and today came across @Bronwen posts on cameos. So interesting and lots of info to absorb. I would recommend all newbies interested in cameos to check out the posts

Because these are so often described as cameos, I have seen lots of them in my treasure hunting. They seem to be transfers on porcelain, sometimes enhanced with little hand painted touches in white. As far as I know, they are a product of France, although I can't guarantee there aren't knockoffs out there. Have never seen one with Limoges so conspicuously placed on the front.
