From the pics, it doesn't look to be true cameo glass. IMHO, it appears to be handpainted to imitate cameo glass.

True cameo glass is glass that has multiple layers of glass in 2 or more colors that is then carved to form the design by revealing the glass under the top layer. The design will be in relief, and you should be able to feel the different layers of glass.

Your piece does not appear to have cut back layers, and I can see brush marks of differing colors.

It’s amber glass etched or sandblasted to frost white and additionally overpainted.

I've never seen colored glass etched atanized or sandblasted to that white of a color before.

I’ll have another look when I get back home. Bought it in a rush and did not inspect it closely.

One of the things that informed my assessment that the amber color is paint, or perhaps stain, is the way the edges of the area looks. They aren't "clean". What I see looks like paintbrush "wobble" as seen best in the last 3 pics.

Also, the handles of the vase look like clear glass that has been sanitized then painted. It would surprise me immensely if the base color of the glass was amber.

raised. It feels like glass rather than paint or enamel.

I can see the raised edge on the amber in the new pics you posted so it is likely that it is cameo glass. The base is clear glass that was cased in amber, then the amber was removed to create the decoration. The base clear glass appears white due to it being frosted from the process of making the piece.

I'm sorry I don't have any suggestion as to who made it.
