Just picked up this original in the wild and I'm clueless but couldn't pass on it for $5. I like the style but don't have the nomenclature to describe it. Any help with the above would be much appreciated. (Edit) It appears to be depict a person who is probably clothed doing a thing and it's made with paint.

The canvas measures 36" by 24" and on the wood in the back is whom I presume to be one of the owners... J.B. Rosefsky, M.D. of Haverford, PA so there is a bit of provenance. They are well-published in the research field it seems. The last photo is a closeup of the signature.

To help us help you, please post full photographs of the front and back including the frame along with close-up of the notation on the back. Charming, by way. (But is that the portrait of a woman or a young girl?) That heavy paint technique is called impasto, by way.

You are amazingly fast! So this is likely Israel's painting that the son kept or do we think the son dabbled in painting as well? Would you call above style, "geometric abstract"?

I'd call it a possibility. And, to me "geometric abstract" could be used to describe. Looks mid-1960s to mid-1970s, again to my eye. Let's see what others have to say.

You're not going to find it if you insist on calling it a still life. :)

It would properly be called a portrait or a genre painting depending on the artist's intention.

Did I mention I'm a newbie to art nomenclature? Couldn't it still be a still life if the model moved as little as the flowers? ;)

No. A still life depicts inanimate objects.

Nude? She looks fully clothed to me.

Likely hung in his practice and jettisoned when it closed.

I am totally confused as to which Rosefsky we think painted this piece, so here's an article on Israel (Rosefsky).

I, for one, am not sure it was painted by a Rosefsky because I'm unable to decipher the signature. Perhaps someone else will have better luck.

I wonder about what looks like conjoined VK on the back?

RANDOM FACT: Jonas BR Wood (listed artist) is Israel's grandson.

I feel fairly confident the first two letters are "BN". I tried tracing the strokes in Photoshop and they seem relatively clear, depending on the interpretation ;). The rest is cryptic. Thoughts? 20191002_193957_color.jpg
