No problem! I bought a pair of these at an estate sale 30 years ago. Just curious to find out what I can about them!

It's always preferred to include photos that are large enough to show detail. Having said that, many people run up against the 1Mb file limit imposed by the forum.

You can refer to the following instructions for assistance.

    Welcome @deb krebs,
Unfortunately your photo is too blurry for us to see the necessary details. We will want to see more than one view - sides, bottom, top. As well as some indication of what you think the vases are made of.

Measurements would also help. Have you found any markings at all?

    Welcome Deb.
It looks like it is a Thai vase, but I would love to see it properly.:)

    Hi Deb,,,,,,,
I'm a fault for not mentioning that posting on the Forum asking for help , first requires that you give us enuf information about the item to help in our detective work !

    Help us...to help you ! :):):)

That made me look in the gallery, since you find stray newbies there and help them.;)
Yes it is from Thailand, carved teakwood and ???
The scene is probably from the Ramakien/Ramayana, a Hindu epic that is popular in Thailand.

I edited the photo so your loved ones aren't in it.:)

Pleasure, deb. If you could take photos on all sides of the mid-section, so we can see the entire story, I may be able to tell you more about it.
About that section, does the material feel cold to the touch, or does it feel the same as the wood?

    Maybe it is painted wood.

Thanks for the extra pics, it is indeed a scene from the Ramakien/Ramayana.
The Ramayana is a complicated story, but this is it in a tiny nutshell: King Rama's wife Sita is abducted by the demon king. Monkey God/general Hanuman is a loyal friend of Rama, he is the first to go after the demons. He gets killed, but in the end the demons are conquered and Sita is returned to Rama.
Ramayana is called Ramakien in Thai.

The scene on your vase is Hanuman fighting against the demons. In Southeast Asia Hanuman is seen as the epitomy of loyal friendship.
Monkey faces and demon faces look a bit similar in Thai imagery, but Hanuman is the one with the mace in his hand. You see him twice, I assume it is one on each vase?

    The blue guy:
