Can anyone help me determine this stamp and it's origin?

    It says 'Satsuma' in Japanese Kanji, however I'd put money on it being a late 20th century Chinese copy as it looks all wrong for an original Japanese piece.

    It is most likely from 'The Royal Satsuma Company', which ironically is neither royal nor Satsuma. They used many marks, many had their name and some deceptive ones like this.
