We recently found a couple of pictures behind one of my great grandma's picture frames up north.
The first one has birds, a nest, and flowers. I have tried to do research on it, but I keep hitting dead ends. There is type on the bottom that says "Copyrighted by G.F. Gilman, 1876."
The second one is a farm setting with cows at a pond with tree and a farm in the background. There is no writing or type on it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have turned your image. Maybe take a picture close up of type written on your birds, and pictures of backs. Please choose Full Image on photos. Can you please give size. Thank you, :)

    Welcome to the forum, Kasie.
I have seen the cow picture before, just can't remember right now. Someone else will.
Just wondering, where is 'up north'? We come from around the globe, so up north can mean many different parts of the world on this forum.

"Up north" for us is Bear Lake, MI. It's about 30 minutes south of Traverse City.

    G.F. Gilman made chromolithography prints.
The date of 1876 is when the image was copyrighted. It could have been printed any time after that. I have not found that image by him yet. I think it’s very nice, personally. Other board members who know more about art may have a better idea.
