Can anyone ID this odd JPN mark, like a kingfisher or something?

The mark is on the pair of Scotties on the left, the ones on the right were unmarked.

I don't think that is the maker. More likely the importer/exporter mark.
Time period - good guess would be late 40s to 1960s.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

The bird might possibly be a species of magpie, or that sort of bird. Some of them have longer bills like that, and they have the long tail feathers. Most kingfishers seem to be shaped differently, and I don't think most have long tails... although they do have long bills

Personally I do not think the maker of these pieces matters that much. They are just cute little MIJ Scottie dog planters & figurines. I would list them under collectibles - animals - Scottie if selling on eBay.
