Can anyone identify and date this object ?

Hello Bronwen, yes it is hollow but I think it is possibly too small to be a liquor flask, but hey! who knows?

 

So how small is it?

I keep staring at this and seeing a dead baby. Sorry, it just looks that way.

Well, according to the internet, it's a novelty scent bottle or a needle case. Swaddled baby.

Do a Google search for swaddled baby then add needle or bottle & you will see a few silver ones. The majority of the results are porcelain though.
