    Welcome, Pat! You really need to provide some more info - like size, is the body hollow?, what have you made of the multiple tiny markings on the back? so we can help you.

    Also, is it hollow? Pocket liquor flask?

    Edit: Blurry eyes missed it that Bakers already asked that.

    Hello Bronwen, yes it is hollow but I think it is possibly too small to be a liquor flask, but hey! who knows?

    We certainly don't know when you haven't given us dimensions. Bakersgma is trying to get you to examine what her sharp eyes have picked up as possible hallmarks. They may contain the answer to date. More info please. :happy:

    Apologies for lack of information, base is smooth no markings, photo of reverse shows only marking (star)

    Reminds me of the mystery item I put on here that turned out to be a perfume applicator you'd carry around in your purse.

    I keep staring at this and seeing a dead baby. Sorry, it just looks that way.

    Perhaps it's for holy water - either for a christening (I hope!) or for a funeral(?)

    Well, according to the internet, it's a novelty scent bottle or a needle case. Swaddled baby.

    Do a Google search for swaddled baby then add needle or bottle & you will see a few silver ones. The majority of the results are porcelain though.

    Who knew?? :confused::confused::rolleyes::rolleyes::happy::happy:
