Can anyone read the mark on this english majolia plate?

    That's a British diamond registry mark. If you can get a rubbing of it, or put something like coffee powder to highlight it, we may be able to get the maker.

    I had a similar sunflower plate with registry mark and I believe it was late 19th Samuel Lear.

    It'd not be later than 1884.

    I think this is Wardle majolica...sunflower and day lily.

    Wardle has a pattern registered July 14, 1882, bundle 10. It fits, not that I ever doubt you.
