Written on the bottom of a hand painted pitcher. Portugal or Italy, perhaps?

I transcribed what I thought I could read and then googled it. No luck. It looks like this to me:

    UIARIA
    HIRCRUCSY
    ALYHTTIELIRE
    ALIRE

    Any ideas? TIA!

You know... I think it's Portuguese. Doesn't the next-to-last line read "Algarve?"

You're right, my bad, I see it now, Olaria de Almancil Algarve.

I know you didn't ask but... yours is a modern tourist piece in a style more "Mediterranean" than traditionally Portuguese. And a sangria-shaped pitcher is also not traditional to Portugal.

Perfect! My husband is in England and found it for £3. Probably what it's worth then. Thank you both!! I wish I could have TWO best answers!

No shame. It's colorful and would be attractive on a summer picnic table. Enjoy!
