  1. I have tried to have this bowl appraised, but no one can tell me any details about the maker and year. I believe the bowl is porcelain and the bottom has numbers on it and letters that are stamped on it ( I circled the letters in the picture) that I can barely see. The letters look like ELF. or ELP.
The flowers are Catasetum Genus Orchards and hand painted.
    If anyone can tell me about this it would be great. 07.jpg 08.jpg 07.jpg 08.jpg 03.jpg 04.jpg 05.jpg 06.jpg

Welcome, Carmen! Lovely piece. I'm sure you meant to type "Orchids" instead of "Orchards." ;)

I don't know anything particularly useful (other than Orchids) but the handpainted numbers usually stand for a design or pattern. Sometimes there is no pattern "name," just the number.

I hope someone here can help you.

    Lovely piece.
My gut reaction was German. However, I wouldn't rule out English, because of the orchid design.

The letters you have circled are probably associated to the maker. I can't quite read them. Are they "AP"?
As Bakers said, the numbers would most likely be the pattern number.

I'm going to guess a time period of late 1800s.

    ELP
    East Liverpool Pottery?
American? Might be mid 1800s instead of late.

    This is not may area.
