I'm not home at the moment to take more pictures but I can't wait to know more information about the Chinese large famille rose or lateqing. I need help with the Marking kinda hard due to hole in the middle. Thanks

Jose, you need to put your photos here on the forum, not in the gallery, if you want folks to see them:

Nice, but early 20thc. Doesn't look like famille rose palette to me but maybe that's just the photograph?

    Nice vase Jose.
Looks like a different manufacturer, but the date mentioned, 'around 1912', looks right for the style of this vase too.
Famille Rose is just a French name for Chinese porcelain with a lot of pink. It doesn't say anything about the period or the value. Yours doesn't have a lot of pink, so no Famille Rose.:)

The few characters that can be on Jose's vase are not a match for the ones in the example shown above by Komo. Could be that the picture of Jose's mark is upside down but I doubt it, even then.

Might as well start calling it a lamp base. Cord. Hole.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Good point. Somebody converted it to a lamp, so it can never be a vase again, probably.

It can still be an ornamental vase.:)

Yes, true... I can't really see the full top of it, but if the top of the lamp fixings have been removed it probably can.

Yes they converted into a lamp. Pretty large vase/lamp. You right about famiile rose pink but with lady's and few pink I thought it would be, someone did say they used watercolor to paint. By the looks of it does seem real old like you said 1912 maybe older. Early republic, stupid hole man stupid people destroying one in a lifetime vase. I wish I knew who was the maker, could it be tongzhi vase I did see a similar painting like mine
