A relative bought this on holiday in famagusta in Cyprus and we can’t seem to find out what it would have been used for.

Some suspect snuff box but would be nice to know for certain.

The central “bird” unscrews to allow the chambers to open.

    Hi,
It is from India and contains the colored powders they threw on each other at the Holi festival. Some people call them spice containers but living next to "Little India" in Jersey I saw them for sale all over the place. Some new some old and some really antiques.

    HA!!!
    OMG!!!
On Andy Griffith he married a couple in front of his desk.
Then he, Barney and Helen (I think) threw rice on them....
Opie is standing on the desk, arm up, ready to heave the rice...box and all!
    Cracked me UP!!! :)
